Carson, California was the location for the recent International Spring Championships, which is a Grade 1 ITF event and the highest level USTA junior event. Bjorn Fratangelo (T-Fight 325 VO2 Max & Black Code String) had a very good result by reaching the finals of the Boys 18&Under Singles and fourth round of doubles. Nikko Madregallejo (T-Fight 325 VO2Max & Black Code String) also had a great tournament by reaching the finals of the Boys 16&Under Singles. Mitchell Krueger and Shane Vinsant paired up to take the Boys 18′s Doubles title and many other Tecnifibre TEAM USA members posted victories in singles and doubles at the prestigious event.
Bjorn Fratangelo entered the tournament as the top seed in both singles and doubles. Bjorn cruised through his first 5 singles matches without dropping a set. He had to get through fellow Tecnifibre TEAM member Mitchell Krueger in the Quarterfinals with a 6-2, 6-4 victory. Krueger was seeded 6th in the event and won 3 matches before falling to Fratangelo. Bjorn came up just short in the finals, losing to Marcos Giron (USA) 7-6, 2-6, 6-4. Fratangelo partnered with Halebian and won two rounds before falling 11-9 in a deciding match-tiebreak.

En route to taking the doubles crown, Shane and Mitchell defeated fellow Tecnifibre TEAM member Michael Rinaldi in the Semifinals. Rinaldi (T-Fight 325 VO2 Max & Black Code String) was seeded 7th, and won 3 matches. Shane and Mitchell defeated Rinaldi and Kwok 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the final match where they were victorious in a 6-4, 1-6, 11-9 decision over Vaks and Cutura. Shane Vinsant (T-Fight 325 VO2 Max & Pro Red Code String) had a good showing in singles in addition to his dominating doubles performance. Shane was seeded 4th, and won his first three matches before falling 6-2, 6-2 to 10th seeded Mac Styslinger. Alex Fennel (T-Fight 320 VO2 Max & Black Code String) rounded out TEAM Tecnifibre’s showing in the Boys 18′s. Alex posted a hard-fought win in doubles (partnered with Dzib Peraza) before losing to Michael Rinaldi.
Nikko Madregallejo entered the Boys 16&Under draw as the #6 seed. He brought his A-game by reaching the championship match. Along the way, he defeated top-seeded Luca Corinteli and 12th seeded JC Aragone. Nikko did not lose a set in his first 5 matches. In the finals, he lost a marathon three-setter to Noah Rubin (seeded 14th) 6-4, 5-7, 7-6. Also, Nikko partnered with Corinteli in doubles but the #2 seeded duo lost in the second round.
