Tecnifibre Takes Over Prime Time

Team Tecnifibre is set to take center stage on one of tennis’ biggest venues. Dennis Kudla, one of the US young guns, drew Roger Federer for his second match at Indian Wells. In his first match, he took down Tobias Kamke in a three set battle.

The “Prime Time” spot light is shining bright on Team Tecnifibre this weekend in the SoCal Desert. Be sure to tune in:

Janko Leads TEAM Tecnifibre at U.S. Open

Janko Tipsarevic made an impressive run to the quarterfinals of the years’ final major, and solidified his new position in the world’s top 20. Janko (T-Fight 325 & Black Code) defeated world #9 Thomas Berdych and former world #1 Juan Carlos Ferrero before falling to eventual Champion and fellow Serbian Novak Djokovic. Also at the Open, Bjorn Fratangelo, Mitchell Krueger, and Shane Vinsant competed in the Boy’s draw. Bjorn (T-Fight 325 & Black Code) entered the tournament seeded third, and cruised through his first two matches before running into a red hot Oliver Golding. (Golding went on to win the title after defeating Bjorn 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.) Bjorn partnered with Alex Halebian and won one main draw match in doubles. Mitchell (T-Fight 325 & Black Code) and Shane (T-Fight 325 & Black Code) paired up to win a doubles match, and Mitchell posted a win over the #7 seed in singles.

In the Girl’s draw, Sachia Vickery (T-Fight 295 & X-Code) won her first two matches with ease before falling to eventual champion Caroline Garcia 6-4, 6-4.

Gisela Dulko was also in action. Dulko (Rebound Pro & X-One Biphase) defeated Rebecca Marino 6-3, 6-3 before falling to #4 seed Victoria Azarenka 6-3, 6-4. Gisela paired up with Flavia Pennetta to reach the third round of doubles.

Denis Istomin (T-Fight 325 & Pro Red Code) also added a main draw win in the men’s singles and doubles.

Sachia Vickery Reaches Semifinals of $25,000 in Bogota

15 year old Tecnifibre TEAM USA member Sachia Vickery (T-Fight 295 VO2 Max) reached the semifinals of a 25,000 dollar tournament in Bogota, Colombia. Sachia is currently at her career high ranking of 604 in the world. She has had a good year to date, reaching the finals of a $10,000 in Gosier and having won a main draw match after passing through qualifying at a $50,000 in Carson, CA.

In Bogota, Sachia defeated qualifier Alexandra Riley 6-1, 6-3. In the second round Vickery got past 3rd seeded Brazilian Vivian Segnini 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 and followed the upset with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 win over 7th seeded Karen Castiblanco. She eventually lost in the semifinals to 2nd seeded Maria-Fernanda Alvaraz-Teran, 6-1, 7-5. Sachia also added a 6-3, 6-4 main draw doubles victory with Colombian partner Alexandra Moreno-Kaste.

Gisela Dulko (T-Fight 295 VO2 Max & X-One Biphase String) won 3 rounds in Women’s Singles before being forced to retire in the round of 16 against Marion Bartoli. Gisela also added a quarterfinal appearance in doubles with partner Flavia Pennetta. The #1 seeded duo eventually lost to 7th seeded Mirza and Veznina.

Janko Tipsarevic (T-Fight 325 VO2 Max & Black Code String) won two rounds in the Men’s Main draw before losing to world number 3 Roger Federer, who reached the finals. Janko defeated Brian Dabul and Pere Riba in straight sets before losing a 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 decision to Federer. Janko also partnered with Countryman Viktor Troicki to win a main draw doubles match.

Marcos Baghdatis (T-Flash 315 Speedflex) also added a straight-set singles victory over Gil Frederico before falling to Leonardo Mayer.

Denis Istomin (T-Fight 325 VO2 Max & Pro Red Code String) added two doubles victories with partner Kaz Galubev despite losing 9-7 in the fifth set in the first round of singles to Fabio Fognini, who reached the semifinals.

TEAM Tecnifibre at the Sony Ericsson Open

Janko Tipsarevic (T-Fight 325 VO2 Max & Black Code Strings) led TEAM Tecnifibre’s performance at the Sony Ericsson open by winning 6 matches. Janko won 3 rounds in singles, and 3 rounds in doubles. Gisela Dulko (T-Fight 295 VO2 Max & X-One Biphase Strings) added 2 doubles victories, while Denis Istomin (T-Fight 325 VO2 Max & Pro Red Code Strings) posted a singles win.

Tipsarevic defeated Robin Haase 6-4, 7-6(5) in the first round and followed up by beating seeded Marin Cilic 6-3, 7-6(4). In the round of 32, Janko knocked off Philipp Petzschner 6-3, 6-3 before falling to frenchman Guilles Simon in a tough 3-set battle, 4-6, 7-6(3) 6-2. Janko also found a lot of success on the doubles court with partner Oliver Marach. The duo won a 3-set first round match and then knocked off the World’s #1 ranked Bryan Brothers 7-5, 6-4. Janko and Oliver followed with a third-round win over Bopanna and Qureshi which placed them in the semifinals. There, they fell to the seeded tandem of Bhupathi and Paes by a score of 6-3, 5-7, 11-9. Also in action in the men’s draw was Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan (T-Fight 325 VO2 Max & Pro Red Code Strings). Istomin defeated Donald Young 6-4, 6-3 in the first round before losing to eventual champion Novak Djokovic.

Gisela Dulko (T-Fight 295 VO2 Max & X-One Biphase Strings), the worlds #1 doubles player, won her first two rounds with Flavia Pennetta. The pair won their first round match 6-1, 6-1 and then defeated Goerges and Raymond 6-2, 6-4 in the second round. Giesela and Flavia came up short in the third round against Sanchez and Garrigues, losing 7-5, 6-4.

World #1 Gisela Dulko continued her domination of the WTA Doubles tour by winning the first Grand Slam of the year with partner Flavia Pennetta. Dulko uses the T-Fight 295 VO2 Max and X-One Biphase strings.

Marcos Baghdatis (T-Flash 315 Speedflex) reached the 3rd round of the men’s draw, before being forced to retire against Jurgen Melzer of Austria. Baghdatis beat former U.S. Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro in the second round.

Janko Tipsarevic (T-Fight 325 VO2 Max and Black Code Strings) made the 3rd round of doubles and lost a heartbreaker in singles to former Tecnifibre user, #9 Fernando Verdasco. Janko held a 2-0 set lead and lost the 4th set in a tiebreaker, before faultering in the fifth.

In the Junior draw, Texas native, Mithcell Krueger made a great run to the quarterfinlas. Krueger started the tournament by beating the #5 seed 7-6, 7-6. He then won two tough matches before falling to the #1 seed. Krueger uses the T-Fight 325 VO2 Max and Black Code Strings.

Vickery In Action at Gosier 10,000

January 16, 2011 – Gosier, Guadaloupe – After a sensational run from the qualifying rounds to the championship match, Sachia Vickery came up just short today against Gail Brodsky.  Brodsky beat the 15 year-old 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 in a hard fought final. Vickery won 5 singles matches in total at the tournament, and will look to build on her strong start to the 2011 season. Vickery uses the T-Fight 295 VO2 Max and X-Code Strings.

January 15, 2011 – Gosier, Gaudaloupe – Although Sachia dropped a set in her semifinal match-up against former NCAA champion Amanda Mcdowell, she was able to pull through to reach her first career pro final. Vickery was the victor of a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 battle, and will now face a fellow American and the #2 seed, Gail Brodsky in the championship match.

January 14, 2011 – Gosier, Guadaloupe – Sachia Vickery continued her winning ways to reach the semifinals of the Gosier 10,000. She defeated Clothilde De Bernardi in the quarters 6-1, 6-4. The youngster will now face former Georgia Tech standout Amanda McDowell in the semis. Vickery has not dropped a set in her 3 main draw matches.

January 12, 2011 – Gosier, Guadaloupe – Sachia Vickery, a 15-year-old sensation from South Florida, advanced through the first round of the $10,000 woman’s pro event in Gosier, Guadeloupe. After passing through the qualifying draw, Sachia deafeated Lou Brouleau of France, 6-2, 6-3 in the first round of the main draw. She faces another French woman, Amandine Cazeaux in the second round. The tournament will be played through the 16th.
