1979 Conception of MAJOR SPORTS by Thierry MAISSANT in March 1979.First company to develop a systematic progression of tennis rackets designed for children.
1980 TECNIFIBRE is conceived from the relationship of Mr. Robin, a chemical engineer who develops the string, Cousin Frères, the industrial partner, and Major Sports.Beginning of the partnership between Major Sports and Cousin Frères.
1982 Ion Tiriac, the first technical consultant for TECNIFIBRE, worked in cooperation with Major Sports for 2 years.
1982 The Argentinian player Jose Luis Clerc, ranked n° 4 at the ATP world ranking, was the first top level player to play with TECNIFIBRE string. He was the first member of the TECNIFIBRE Tennis Team.
1985 Major Sports resumes the worldwide distribution of stringing machines, manufactured by the company Spenle Pizzera in Villeurbanne (France).
1988 Beginning of the partnership between Major Sports and the French Tennis Federation (FFT). For the first time, TECNIFIBRE is the official stringer at the French Open and the Paris-Bercy Indoor tournament.Since then, TECNIFIBRE is still providing service to the best players in the world at both tournaments.
1990 First Grand Slam title for TECNIFIBRE : victory for Monica Seles at the French Open. Since this date, TECNIFIBRE has won many other Grand Slam titles.
1995 Major Sports resumes the worldwide distribution of the Roland Garros tennis balls. The French Open Roland Garros tennis ball is the official ball of the French Open and of many other professional tournaments such as the Italian Open (in 1999).
1999 TECNIFIBRE is rated n° 1 synthetic string by the United States Racquet Stringers Association – USRSA (String survey) with NRG² (XTra Dynamic) and also in Germany (Tennis magazine).
2000 Sébastien Grosjean and Arnaud Clément sign a MAJOR / TECNIFIBRE endorsement contract.MAJOR SPORTS purchases the tennis ball factory located in Thailand and forms the company MSp. The production capacity of MSp. is about one million dozen balls per year.
2001 TECNIFIBRE launches the Tecnifibre racket program for Squash.
2002

TECNIFIBRE brings new Top string: X-ONE 1.24. Thierry LINCOU sign a TECNIFIBRE endorsement contract to play with TF rackets and strings

2003 TECNIFIBRE launches new Tecnifibre racket program for Europe. Vanessa Adtkinson joins TF Squash Team.
2004 TECNIFIBRE rackets sold internationally (more than 30 countries) • First ATP Tournament victory : Fernando Verdasco (Spain) in Valencia • Thierry LINCOU and Vanessa Atkinson become World Champions and N°1 with TF rackets and strings. • X-ONE string ranked N°1 at USRSA
2005 TECNIFIBRE develops a new finishing process for HIGH END strings : Biphase Treatment (unique and patented) • Wesley Moodie (South Afr.) winner on ATP AIG Tokyo Open
2006 TECNIFIBRE launches new HIGH TECH polyester string, Pro REDCODE (used by ATP players) • New Marketing Positionning of Tecnifibre, willing to become N°1 Challenger Brand worldwide as “The Brand bringing the best sensations to the tennis and squash players“!
2007 TECNIFIBRE launches the first Sport & Style rackets collection • Argentinian player Gisela Dulko signs with Tecnifibre
2008 TECNIFIBRE becomes the official ball and stringer of the Open 13 tournament (Marseille) • 20st Tecnifibre anniversary as the official string of Roland Garros (1988-2008)Marcos Baghdatis sign with Tecnifibre and is playing with T-Flash 315 racket
