| 1979 | Conception of MAJOR SPORTS by Thierry MAISSANT in March 1979.First company to develop a systematic progression of tennis rackets designed for children. | 1980 | TECNIFIBRE is conceived from the relationship of Mr. Robin, a chemical engineer who develops the string, Cousin Frères, the industrial partner, and Major Sports.Beginning of the partnership between Major Sports and Cousin Frères. | 1982 | Ion Tiriac, the first technical consultant for TECNIFIBRE, worked in cooperation with Major Sports for 2 years. | 1982 | The Argentinian player Jose Luis Clerc, ranked n° 4 at the ATP world ranking, was the first top level player to play with TECNIFIBRE string.
